About the opportunity

Reporting to the National Quality Manager and working closely with project leadership teams, the Project Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring project quality systems, processes and documentation are implemented, maintained and continuously improved throughout the project lifecycle. 

This role plays a key leadership function in ensuring project compliance with management system requirements, contractual obligations, relevant legislation, client specifications, Australian Standards and certification requirements. 

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring a strong understanding of:

  • Quality Management Systems
  • Master Inspection Test Plans (MITPs)
  • Project quality documentation and records management
  • Technical specifications and construction compliance
  • Australian Standards and quality assurance requirements
  • Project close-out and handover documentation

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented construction professional who understands that quality assurance extends well beyond documentation. You take pride in delivering compliant, well-executed projects and have the confidence to work closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to drive quality outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' quality assurance experience within the construction industry, or significant project engineering experience with strong quality management exposure.
  • A practical understanding of quality management systems and quality assurance principles and ISO 9001.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality documentation and records.
  • Strong knowledge of construction specifications, inspection requirements and Australian Standards.
  • Experience managing or supporting MITPs, ITPs, inspections and compliance activities.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in document control, records management and quality tracking systems.
  • High attention to detail with strong planning, organisational and documentation capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to driving continuous improvement and quality excellence.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining and implementing Project Quality Management Plans.
  • Ensuring project quality systems operate in accordance with company, contractual and certification requirements.
  • Managing and monitoring MITPs, ITPs, verification checklists and project quality records.
  • Conducting internal audits and compliance reviews of project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Supporting quality training and awareness initiatives across project teams.
  • Coordinating inspections, testing activities and quality verification processes.
  • Reviewing project documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, standards and client requirements.
  • Managing non-conformances, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting project close-out activities, including warranties, certifications, as-built documentation and handover requirements.
  • Preparing quality reports, audit outcomes and performance metrics for project and senior leadership teams.

Security Requirements

These roles support projects within secure Defence environments. Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
