Sitzler is seeking a reliable, experienced and safety-focused Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our logistics team.
Reporting to the Logistics & Yard Manager, this is a hands-on, active role suited to someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a team, and contributing to essential site operations.
The position involves working in a dynamic logistics environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to the following:
• Carry out daily tasks including scheduled maintenance & servicing, planned & unplanned maintenance and repairs of P&E, both in the workshop and on-site
• Inspections, testing and diagnostics on company motor vehicles, small tools, plant and equipment assets for servicing, maintenance and defect repairs
• Perform fault diagnostics to detect and correct mechanical and electronic faults
• Analyse diagnosed / reported faults or defects and provide guidance on repairs • Report all major faults, defect and damages to the Workshop Leading Hand and Workshop Supervisor
• Attend to breakdowns
• Housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness of the Workshop
• Comply with reasonable directions and WHS policies and procedures
• Operate heavy equipment as required / within qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job:
• Recognised relevant qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
Minimum of 5 years as HD fitter
• Complete understanding of heavy earthmoving and mobile plant including relevant experience
• Basic hydraulic knowledge
• Necessary applicable licenses i.e. vehicle air-conditioning electrical systems and Forklift High Risk Work Licence
