Sitzler is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial, contractual and financial performance of a major construction project. This senior role has end‑to‑end responsibility across the project lifecycle and plays a key part in driving strong commercial outcomes, governance and risk management.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the commercial strategy of the project from contract award through to completion
Provide senior direction on head contract and subcontract administration, including procurement strategies, claims, variations and extensions of time
Establish and maintain strong commercial governance, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance across all reporting and processes
Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and opportunities throughout the life of the project
Drive cost control, forecasting, cashflow management and value recovery initiatives
Oversee procurement activities, including tender reviews, subcontract negotiations and contract settlement
Review and approve subcontractor progress claims, variations, extensions of time and final accounts
Ensure timely preparation and review of project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cashflow projections
Present commercial and financial performance to senior leadership and project stakeholders
Lead, mentor and manage Contract Administrators and commercial staff, providing guidance on complex commercial matters
Ensure compliance with company procedures, Security of Payment, Modern Slavery and other statutory requirements

Senior commercial professional with extensive experience in the construction industry
Strong background in head contract and subcontract negotiation and risk management
Proven ability to lead commercial teams on complex projects
Confident communicator with sound commercial judgement
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar (or equivalent senior industry experience)
Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial construction practices
