Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to the following:
Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of all building services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, fire, communications and specialist systems) from design coordination through to commissioning and handover.
Manage and coordinate services design development, technical submissions, BIM/model coordination and design freeze milestones to support construction and procurement programs.
Provide technical leadership and oversight of all building services subcontractors, ensuring clarity of scope, quality standards, program alignment and contractual compliance.
Drive BIM and services coordination, including chairing coordination meetings, resolving clashes, managing RFIs and ensuring coordinated, buildable outcomes.
Identify, manage and mitigate services‑related risks, including long‑lead procurement items, access constraints, installation sequencing and commissioning readiness.
Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and Contract Administrator to support cost planning, procurement strategy, subcontractor engagement and variation assessments.
Coordinate construction‑phase services delivery, including installation sequencing, inspections, testing, temporary services and resolution of technical site issues.
Lead integrated services commissioning, statutory approvals, performance testing and client handover, including O&M manuals, training and defects close‑out.
Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and statutory requirements for all high‑risk services activities, testing and energisation works.
Support tendering and early works phases by contributing to services input, risk identification and constructability advice where required.

Qualifications
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services) or minimum of 15 years in the construction industry with design and services management experience
Minimum of 5 years in a services trade role with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 commercial builder
Design management skills
Strong understanding of services design, coordination, installation, commissioning and handover
In depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fire, security and communication systems; NCC/BCA and Australian Standards
Proven ability to manage program, cost, risk and quality outcomes
Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and resolve interface issues
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
High level of attention to detail and problem solving capability
Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Nationally Recognised Construction Induction

Work Experience
Considered necessary to do the job effectively:
Minimum of 15 years in the construction industry with design and services management experience
Demonstrated experience managing multiple services trade packages on large or complex construction projects
Experience working with consultants, subcontractors and clients in a head contractor environment
